Have you ever been out and about and spotted a familiar face in the crowd? No, not a friend or relative, or someone you were hoping to run in to at the casino, or wherever else you’ve gone for a bit of fun, but someone who looks just like you. It can be a jarring, even scary situation. Probably because we’re so often told how unique and different we all are. Yet, somehow, nature has seen fit to create another that seems identical. Is it because the Matrix only has so many character models, before it must start reusing them?
But now imagine this; you’re famous, hundreds of millions of people know your face, and you have a lookalike. Not just any lookalike though, one that also happens to be famous. Don’t believe us? Take a look at the celebs that have doppelgangers!
Jada Pinkett Smith and Zoe Saldana
Jada Pinkett Smith is a comedian, singer, songwriter, and actress, and just about everything else, including Will Smith’s wife. In contrast, Zoe Saldana is an actress who starred in Avatar and as Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy. The two could be sisters, but aren’t. As far as we know anyway, but they certainly look like they were separated at birth!
Will Ferrell and Chad Smith
Will Ferrell is the legendary comedic actor who stared in, well, so many movies it would take a long time to list them all. Chad Smith has been the drummer of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers since 1988. Let’s face it, Smith is the lesser well known of the two, but perhaps the one taken a touch more seriously. No offense to Ferrell of course!
Amy Adams and Isla Fisher
You’ll know Amy Adams as the new Lois Lane in the DC Extended Universe. Australian born Isla Fisher has an extremely long filmography, including The Great Gatsby, Now You See Me, Horton Hears a Who, Rango, and most recently in two seasons of Arrested Development, but the two are easy to confuse as they are so strikingly similar.
Emily Kinney and Evanna Lynch
Emily Kinney is an actress, singer and songwriter, best known for her major role in The Walking Dead. Evanna Lynch is, of course, Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films. There is a pretty big age difference between the two, but still a marked similarity.
Chord Overstreet and Austin Butler
Chord Overstreet is better known as That Blonde Kid From Glee. Austin Butler is best known as That Blonde Kid from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. They’re both blonde, and that’s enough for us to call them identical.
Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly
Australian actress Margot Robbie hit the big time staring opposite Leo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street. Jaime Pressly is best known for her role in My Name Is Earl, and more recently in the television series Mom. Robbie may be the bigger star for now, but they really do look identical!
Henry Cavill and Matt Bomer
You know the new Superman, although he’d probably like you to forget that he is Superman, given how badly the films were received. Matt Bomer is the far less Superman level of fame actor from various television shows. He was nominated for an Emmy for his role in The Normal Heart. Bomer is probably glad he dodged the Superman bullet, and his twin took it instead.
Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard
Academy Award nominated and Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain can be seen in Interstellar and The Martian. Bryce Dallas Howard shot to fame as M. Night Shyamalan favourite in The Village and Lady in the Water, then headed to Spiderman 3 and the Twilight Saga, but despite different career trajectories many people get them confused.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Javier Bardem
Jeffery Dean Morgan, the man with the ultimate ‘I’m sure I know him’ face, has been in Supernatural, Grey’s Anatomy, Watchmen, and The Walking Dead. Javier Bardem will, no doubt, be most familiar to you as the psychotic bounty hunter in No Country For Old Men. He also has such an incredible number of Academy Award nominations, BAFTA awards, European awards, and others, that we’re ashamed we only know him as the psychotic bounty hunter.
Drea de Matteo and Portia de Rossi
You’ll know Drea de Matteo from Desperate Housewives, first and foremost. Her ‘twin’ Portia de Rossi is in Ally McBeal, Arrested Development, and Scandal. Yes, it’s weird that their names are even similar.
Victoria Justice and Nina Dobrev
American musician and actress Vitoria Justice has been in a handful of productions, including the film The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Canadian actress Nina Dobrev has likewise been in a handful of productions, most notably The Vampire Diaries. Neither is exactly super famous, so maybe they could pool their fame and become one single mega-star?
Emma Mackey and Margot Robbie
Then we have we have still relatively unknown French Emma Mackey who has played a single role in the Netflix series Sex Education. Academy and multi-BAFTA nominated Margot Robbie can be seen as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, and in the latest Tarantino flick One Upon a Time in Hollywood. When Mackey starts to get more well-known, telling them apart might become a bit of a problem.
